NEW COUNTRY:  Juan Fernandez Islands, CE0Z

The CB0ZA team goes there February 13 to 20, 2024. There will be 10 ops on Robinson Crusoe Island which has the IOTA designator of SA-005. As part of the trip, they will do a Parks on the Air activation, Juan Fernandez National Park, with IOTA designator CA-0022. They plan four stations, 160-6 including 60M, SSB, CW, RTTY, FT8 and 6M EME. Individual and club supporters will get a mention on the website.

TJ9MD November 2-15.  The QTH, Kribi, is on the Atlantic coast. 
 
Timor-Leste - New country:

4W8X in November 2023. A team of 20+ skillful and experienced operators from Germany, Poland, Austria, Hungary and England will be active from Timor Leste in November 2023, and plan to be on 60m.

Howdy, well some good news, I checked with the regulator, all good for 60m, just keep it under 100 watts. I never go past 25 watts anyways.
 
Have to sort an antenna. The one I am using might tune on 60m. I do have a 60 EFHW with me but not sure I can get it up.

This will be put on by the Czech Republic team that won the DX-pedition of the Year award for the TN8K trip to the Republic of the Congo. Look for them Sept.28 to Oct. 8.

SENEGAL: 6W Willy ON4VT will be back in Senegal from February 4, to 31 March 2023. 73, Willy

St Eustatius PJ5/W5JON: October 25 - 31, 2023. Including: Active 6-60m, on SSB and FT8. ALL QSL's DIRECT or LoTW.

Sable Island: CY0S Will be on starting March 20 to 29.

Vanuatu: YJ0A has been very active on 60m from Feb 9 to 25.

Solomon Islands: H44MS DL2GAC (aka VU2BMS), Bernard, is planning to be back on Malaite Island (OC-047) beginning around February 15. He will stay until the end of April. He will have a dipole for 60 meters and activity will be on SSB and some FT8. QSL via DL2GAC and eventually LoTW.

THE GAMBIA C5 Operators Gérard/F5NVF, Abdel/M0NPT (7X2TT) and Luc/F5RAV will once again be active as C5C from The Gambia, between February 16, and March 13, 2023. Activity will be on 80-6 meters, including 60m.
QSL via F5RAV, direct, eQSL or LoTW. Look for more details to be forthcoming.

Given that there are reckoned to be 195 countries in the World ( UN ) and at the present time of Autumn / Winter 2022 there is a total of 85 countries currently with a 5MHz / 60m Amateur Radio presence means that 43.58% - or well over one third of the World-is now active on 5 MHz / 60m, with hopefully more to come as administrations gradually adopt the WRC-15 decision in whatever format they are able to.

The Czech DX-pedition group is planning a DX-pedition in the Republic of Congo as TN8K. They are on the air now.

Spratly Islands DX0NE: by Gil 4F2KWT

Gil tells me that the upcoming DX0NE to Spratly Island has been postponed. The team of Michael; DU3JA, Jong; 4F1OZ, Ed; and 4F2KWT, hope this will happen in the first quarter of 2023.

3D2AG - Fiji Isl. on 60m band CW...

Did you worked Fiji Isl. on 60m band CW? If you are looking for anybody there then try 3D2AG !

OPERATING SCHEDULE: The 60m operating times are 0530 to 0700 UTC (For EU and USA) and 1000 to 1200 UTC (for USA) on 5358.5 / 5405 KHz CW mode.

 

If working 3D2AG between 0500 to 1200 UTC, please be patient especially on LB up to 20m as there is very violent local square-wave QRN (S9+ at times) from various domestic sources in the neighborhood. Sometimes this QRN is so bad that CW is not possible at all. 

3D2AG STATION SETUP (FIJI, OC-016): using IC-7300 / ICOM 706MKIIG / FT-757GX / TS-440S and Hustler 4BTV or home-brew OCFD 80-10m antenna, monoband inverted-Vees for 60m, 30m, 17m and 12m. On 160m, Inverted-L antenna on 18m high Spider pole. For VHF: 5-el Cushcraft A50-S Yagi on 6m and Cushcraft A144-20T 10-el yagi on 2m. For QRO low bands: ACOM 600S linear.

More African Countries Arrive on 60 m

Word has just arrived via the South African Radio League (SARL) that three new African countries have joined the ranks of 5 MHz / 60 m operators.

They are Botswana, Lesotho & Swatini (formerly known as Swaziland).

Each has the new WRC-15 Amateur Secondary Allocation of 5351.5 – 5366.5 kHz.
