Welcome to Tropical band

To most people the phrase "tropical bands" bring a pretty clear picture to mind - a bunch of shirtless guys playing calypso music. But to experienced shortwave DXers those two little words express the most challenging and enjoyable part of the radio hobby. The phrase kindles memories of a DXer's best catches and favorite QSLs, of exotic stations, music and of early morning listening sessions. (Don Moore)
I like the "Tropical band" name for new 60m allocation. (OK1RP)

60m - Tropical band in TF

Hello,

there is short information from Heimir, TF1EIN about the new allocation for 60m band in Iceland...

"Dear Petr,
I would love to try to have a QSO on 60m USB and 5,620 mhz is fine with me. Our new licence for 60m in Iceland is from 1 Jan 2011 5.260MHZ - 5.410 MHZ USB on vfo (no channels) ssb and cw allowed.
73 - TF1 EIN, Heimir"

I hope that it will be another country active on the Tropical band.

  1. Petr...
Hope I got signed on all OK. Some problems with making comment. Thanks for the site! My DXCC total is 62 and thank you for being my first OK on January 5th!
